About

Hey there!

My name is Matt Mazur and this is my personal blog where I write projects what I’m working on and things I learn along the way.

I’m currently a data scientist at Help Scout where I wrangle data to gain insights into our product and business. Prior to that I was the Marketing Engineering Lead at Automattic where I worked on WordPress.com.

I live in Orlando, Florida with my wife, two kids and dog.

I’ve built a number of software products over the years including Lean Domain Search, a domain name generator (acquired by Automattic) that I started as a side project while deployed to Iraq, and Preceden, a popular web-based timeline maker.

Prior to working at Automattic I spent over nine years in the US Air Force. I attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs during which time I also interned with the National Security Agency’s Red Team. I later served as a communications and executive officer at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, a project manager for the Air Operations Center program at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, and the director of communications for Air Force Special Operations in Iraq.

I love meeting new folks so feel free to drop me a note at anytime.
