Hey there!
My name is Matt Mazur and this is my personal blog where I write about projects that I’m working on and things I learn along the way.
I currently run Preceden timeline maker – the best timeline maker tool for creating professional-looking timelines, and also consult with Help Scout where I wrangle data to help grow the business. Prior to this I was full time at Help Scout and before that I was the WordPress.com Marketing Engineering Lead at Automattic.
I live in Cary, North Carolina with my wife and four kids.
I’ve built a number of software products over the years including Lean Domain Search, a domain name generator (acquired by Automattic) that I started as a side project while deployed to Iraq.
Prior to working in software and data, I spent over nine years in the US Air Force. I attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs during which time I also interned with the National Security Agency’s Red Team. I later served as a communications and executive officer at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, a project manager for the Air Operations Center program at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, and the director of communications for Air Force Special Operations in Iraq.
I love meeting new folks so feel free to drop me a note at anytime.
